Please know that the chinchilla population has grown over the past few years. Besides us, other rescues have been flooded and have not been able to help as much as usual. From now on we ask a surrender fee of $20. This can be paid by check/cash and or credit made out directly to one of our vets. This just helps with the cost of taking in more chinchillas and maintaining a balance to keep up with our vet bills. We also must insist that your chinchilla be surrendered with its cage and belongings. If you cannot keep your chinchilla you will no longer need its cage , however they will! We only have a few fosters at this time and as much as we would love more we have to be strict on who fosters for us. Please understand that we cannot always take in asap, but will not decline true emergencies. Please email us with the title Chinchilla Surrender and include the following: Name, Sex, Age, Color, Health, Behavior, Reason needing to surrender, what type of cage, specific diet ( please include everything, brand names and treats used if any) Last vet visit if any and your location. We will take in any chin in need regardless of Health or behavior, so please tell us everything you know so we can set up a vet appointment if needed before hand or be prepared and know what to expect.
